Since being established in 1981, Broadway Transport has been dedicated to serving the healthcare sector with logistics solutions that are responsive, reliable and competitive.
“Many of our challenges at the time were based around the need for an integrated solution,” says Darren Gittins, General Manager of Broadway Transport. “The products we were using at the time required users to access multiple programs that operated independently from one another. A new system had to meet all our needs in one integrated solution.”
In terms of functionality, Broadway Transport were looking for a solution that eased the burden of route planning whilst at the same time enabling users to maximise vehicle efficiency.
Their existing system could no longer meet their needs. “We were unable to integrate our warehousing and transport operations into one package with our old system.” The legacy system that they were using had been upgraded, bolted on to and added to over the years and had become cumbersome to use on a day to day basis.
“We realised that we needed a fully integrated solution that would streamline our day to day activities – one that could provide route planning, cost capture, GPS tracking, reporting and analysis tools, web ordering, EPOD and flexible pricing functionality that would enable us to automate our many and varied rate cards.” says Darren.
In addition to the wish list of functionality, the solution had to be competitively priced while also being scalable in order to meet their future growth plans as well as being easy to use.
“The Vigo system was much more user friendly than our previous software and offered greater functionality in terms of reporting, pricing and planning. We felt that the company had a personal feel about it and, over time, we were able to build strong working relationships with individual members of the Vigo support teams and management, relationships which are still strong some 6 years on from our initial implementation.”

We have greater visibility of our daily operations and can report on historic activity with ease. Our customers benefit from our ability to offer online job booking and EPOD.”
