The heart of the haulage system is LoadBuilder - the main traffic planning system.
Assign jobs to a manifest, decide the run order, allocate the manifest to a trailer, vehicle, driver or sub-contractor and then produce the loading lists, run sheets, labels, dockets and other documents.

Jobs are automaticaly allocated to a delivery area, based upon postcode
Select an area of the country and all today's unallocated jobs are displayed
Double click on a job to allocate it to the manifest which is highlighted in the bottom part of the screen.
Right click on a job or manifest to view the full details.

LoadBuilder consists of three views which can be positioned to suit the operator. Vigo recommend the use of two physical screens to maximise the detail that can be viewed at one time. A typical arrangement is shown below.

Manifest Detail

Shows the jobs on the manifest in the order they were first clicked.
Drag and drop the jobs into a different sequence or use the automatic scheduling by delivery time to finalise the order.
Summary Details such as total drops, weight, pallet spaces, revenue and cost may be shown.

Assign Manifest.

Assign a trailer, vehicle, driver or allocate the job to a sub-contractor.
The delivery costs can be calculated from a wide range of factors or the price quoted by the subcontractor can be recorded. If the vehicle is a hub trunk vehicle and the jobs will be delivered through an overnight network then the jobs will be routed to the correct depot, the appropriate labels printed and the costs incurred will be allocated to the job.

Futher Reading
LoadBuilder creates the manifests; the main system will progress those jobs through to delivery, POD and invoicing. See our leaflets on POD Scanning, In-Cab Signature Capture, Internet Services, Depot Systems, Customers Pricing and Invoicing.

In addition to the simple record of each vehicle for use when assigning loads, the Vehicle Management system will hold details of all renewal dates for items associated with that vehicle.
By accruing all costs in conjunction with the revenue from the jobs carried out by each vehicle, vehicle gross profit reports can be prepared.

Basic vehicle details include capacities and as jobs are loaded onto the vehicle the system will warn if either the weight or volume capacities are exceeded.

Renewal dates for regular items such as insurance,
MOT and servicing are recorded

The leaflets about Haulage and Depot systems mainly cover how the Vigo programs deal with multi drop works.
Vigo programs also have powerful facilities to handle same-day mainly single drop work.

Using the same concept of a traffic diary with a job entry screen the General Haulage option is fully integrated into the system and jobs
can be moved from this single-drop operation to and from the multidrop side by a simple click of the mouse.

Views showing vehicle, trailer and driver usage and availability for up to seven days ahead allow for accurate planning of resources to meet customer needs.

The availability of resources is taken into account, with simple facilities to mark vehicles etc as unavailable due to servicing, repairs etc and staff availability shows licences, holidays and shifts.

These functions integrate with the Vigo: Vehicle Management facilities, described in the appropriate leaflet.

Rapid display of previous jobs for customers provide rapid quoting for new work and a click of the mouse can repeat a previous job, eliminating time consuming data entry.

Jobs are invoiced through the main Vigo: Invoicing routines and General Haulage work can either be invoiced separately or integrated with the multidrop invoices.
Invoices are prepared using the Crystal Reports report generators and hence are infinitely flexible in their design.
Appropriate nominal codings can be passed on to your accounting system providing powerful finance analysis. This is in addition to the in-built Vigo operational and profitability analyses.

View the drops on a manifest on a map of the area. Jobs are numbered based on the manifest run order and can be easily changed by clicking on them.

Several manifests can be viewed on the same map so that jobs may be moved from one run to another.

The mileage and times for each manifest are calculated and unloading times added to give an overall run time.

By revising the drop order on the road map and recalculating the mileage and times, the most cost-effective journey can be indentified

By adding a GPS receiver, details of the actual position of the vehicle dealing with the job can be seen and historical data captured and all vehicles can be plotted on the maps.
Jobs for each vehicle may be seen, showing the progress of each job and the route the vehicle has taken.
The user can click on the vehicle/job to see its status.
